ASTRAGALUS POWDER

Additional Information

Astragalus powder is a traditional Chinese medicine that is thought to  be very important for vital energy with similar Qi strengthening  properties to ginseng.

In traditional Chinese medicine, astragalus powder is very important for  vital energy, and it has similar Qi strengthening properties to  ginseng, but is less heating and stimulating

Astragalus powder has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for  centuries, its Chinese name ‘Huang qi’ is actually comprised of two  Chinese words. The first word “Huang” (黃) means “yellow”, the colour of  the herb. Yellow is also the colour of the “middle”, the “earth” and the  “spleen”. The second word “Qi” (耆) means “superior” or “senior”. The  Chinese name of the herb suggests that the herb was considered to be a  superior herb used for many medicinal purposes

The average recommended dose for an adult is 2-6g of astragalus powder  per day. 4g of powder is equivalent to approximately 1 teaspoon. Since  astragalus is almost tasteless, 1 teaspoon of astragalus powder can be  easily hidden in different foods, like soups, sauces, smoothies or in a  tonic with other Chinese herbs.
